Hello and welcome to my Bio, my name is Diane and I live in the beautiful county of Wiltshire.
I originally trained as a nurse but being a military wife and travelling a lot means I have had other jobs over the years and I am no longer registered. However I spent a lot of that time doing community End of life Care.
After losing significant family members including my 13yr old son and my husband suddenly and watching my mum die in a care home I decided to do the Doula Foundation Training with Living Well , Dying Well organisation in 2024
I now work as a Community Companion and I am registered with End of Life Doula UK. Certificate No 23361
My 25yrs experience of working in charities as a senior manager supporting family carers and people with Dementia added to my nursing career knowledge.
Alongside my Doula work I teach Dementia Awareness sessions, End of Planning sessions and facilitate at two Death Cafes.
Has explored death, dying and bereavement and been introduced to person-centred practice, including advance planning. They may offer informal, voluntary support, companionship and help with everyday tasks as an End of Life Companion within their community.
