FindADoula.co.uk (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent online platform that helps individuals and families discover and connect with end of life doulas, practitioners, organisations and support services.
The Platform allows independent practitioners and organisations (“Members”) to create professional profiles and enables users (“Users”) to explore, compare and contact them directly.
We act solely as an
independent intermediary platform and are not a party to any agreement, arrangement, or services provided by Members.
Where stated, we may work with recognised training providers, membership organisations or other relevant organisations to verify particular information displayed on Member profiles or to support appropriate safeguarding and suitability processes.
2. Eligibility
By using the Platform, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old
- you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
- any organisation or professional profile you represent is legitimate and authorised to operate
3. Nature of the Service
We provide profile, visibility, discovery and, where explicitly stated, verification tools.
We do not:
- provide end of life doula services ourselves
- employ or supervise Members
- guarantee the quality, suitability, legality, or availability of services offered by Members
- verify qualifications, insurance, registrations, memberships or certifications unless explicitly stated on the Platform
- monitor or control services provided by Members
Where a particular training status, membership, certification or other credential is shown as verified, that verification relates only to the specific information identified as verified. It does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, guarantee of competence, or guarantee of suitability to provide services.
Users engage with Members entirely at their own discretion and risk.
4. Member Profiles
Members are solely responsible for ensuring that all profile information is accurate, complete, lawful and kept up to date.
Where information is independently verified by Find a Doula through an approved verification process, Members must not attempt to circumvent, manipulate or misrepresent the outcome of that verification.
4.2 Content Standards
You agree not to upload or publish content that:
- is false, misleading, or deceptive
- infringes intellectual property rights
- is unlawful, offensive, defamatory, or abusive
- misrepresents qualifications, registrations, affiliations, memberships, certifications, training status, or experience
We reserve the right to edit, reject, remove or modify content at our discretion.
4.3 Right to Refuse, Suspend or Remove Profiles
Find a Doula reserves the right to refuse, restrict, suspend or remove a Member or profile where there is a significant concern regarding that person’s suitability to practise or to be listed on the Platform.
We may investigate, refuse, restrict, suspend or remove profiles where we reasonably consider that:
- they breach these Terms
- information provided by the Member is false, misleading or materially inaccurate
- they appear unsafe, inappropriate, or unsuitable for the Platform
- the Member’s conduct may pose a safeguarding or suitability concern
- the Member’s activity poses a risk to Users, other Members, third parties, or the Platform
- a relevant training, certification, membership or professional status has been withdrawn, refused, restricted or materially changed
- removal or restriction is required by law
In appropriate circumstances, we may consider information received from recognised training providers, membership organisations, safeguarding bodies, professional organisations, Members, clients or other relevant third parties.
Any decision taken by Find a Doula will be made under our own policies and procedures. A decision or action taken by a third-party organisation does not necessarily result in automatic suspension or removal from Find a Doula.
Where appropriate, we may temporarily restrict or suspend a profile while a serious safeguarding or suitability concern is being considered.
No refunds will be issued where removal results from a breach of these Terms.
5. Training Verification and Collaboration with LWDW Training
Find a Doula works with Living Well Dying Well Training Ltd (“LWDW Training”) to enable eligible Members to verify their LWDW training status.
Where a Member chooses to use this verification service, Find a Doula may securely check information against LWDW Training records in order to confirm matters such as the Member’s training level or certification status.
A verified LWDW status:
- confirms only the training information identified by the verification process
- does not mean that LWDW Training operates, controls or endorses Find a Doula
- does not mean that Find a Doula operates, controls or provides LWDW Training
- does not constitute a guarantee by either organisation as to a Member’s competence, conduct, suitability, availability or quality of services
Find a Doula and LWDW Training remain independent organisations.
5.1 Safeguarding and Suitability Concerns
LWDW Training may, in accordance with its own policies, notify Find a Doula where it considers that a matter involving a learner or former learner may present a safeguarding or suitability-to-practise concern.
LWDW Training may also provide Find a Doula with relevant information concerning the outcome of an investigation or decision where its policies permit such information to be shared.
Where Find a Doula receives such information, we may assess the matter under our own policies and these Terms and determine independently whether any action is appropriate.
Such action may include:
- taking no action
- requesting further information
- removing or changing a verification status
- placing restrictions on a profile
- temporarily suspending a profile while a concern is assessed
- removing a profile from the Platform
A finding, investigation, restriction or refusal by LWDW Training does not automatically determine the action Find a Doula will take. Find a Doula retains responsibility for decisions concerning access to and use of its own Platform.
Information received in connection with safeguarding or suitability concerns will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
6. User Responsibility
Users acknowledge that:
- any engagement with a Member is entirely at their own discretion and risk
- Members operate independently from FindADoula.co.uk
- a verification badge or verified status relates only to the particular information stated as having been verified
Users remain responsible for:
- checking any qualifications, registrations, memberships, certifications and insurance relevant to the services they intend to obtain, except to the extent that particular information is explicitly shown as verified by Find a Doula
- assessing the suitability of services and practitioners for their individual circumstances
- agreeing terms directly with the Member
7. Payments and Subscriptions
Memberships and profiles may be offered on a subscription basis via WooCommerce and payment providers such as Stripe (or equivalent).
- subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- pricing is displayed at the point of purchase
Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Where this occurs:
- existing subscribers will be given reasonable notice where practical
- updated pricing will apply from the next billing cycle
8. Cancellation and Refunds
- subscriptions may be cancelled at any time
- cancellation prevents future billing
- no refunds are provided for partial billing periods unless required by law

9. Intellectual Property
Members retain ownership of their content.
By submitting content, you grant us a
non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
- display
- distribute
- promote
- modify formatting for platform use
This licence continues for as long as the content remains on the Platform.
We aim to ensure the Platform is available at all times; however:
- we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
- access may be suspended for maintenance, updates, moderation, security, verification, or technical reasons
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
- any loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, or reputation
- any indirect or consequential loss
- any damages arising from:
- use of or reliance on the Platform
- services provided by Members
- interactions between Users and Members
We do not accept responsibility for:
- the quality, safety, legality, suitability, or delivery of services provided by Members
- any injury, loss, damage, or dispute arising from services obtained through the Platform
- the accuracy of profile information provided by Members except to the extent that particular information has been explicitly verified by Find a Doula
- the continuing accuracy of third-party information following the date or time at which it was verified
Verification of training, membership, certification or other status does not amount to an endorsement or warranty concerning a Member or the services they provide.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FindADoula.co.uk from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses arising from:
- your use of the Platform
- your breach of these Terms
- your profile content, services, or activities
13. Third-Party Organisations, Links and Services
The Platform may work with or include links to third-party organisations, websites or services.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, such organisations operate independently from Find a Doula.
The existence of a verification arrangement, technical integration, collaboration or link does not make Find a Doula responsible for the services, policies or actions of another organisation, nor does it make that organisation responsible for Find a Doula.
14. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
Routine automated verification of LWDW training status is designed so that names and email addresses are not exchanged between Find a Doula and LWDW Training.
Verification uses a cryptographic hash and processes only the minimum information necessary to establish and maintain the relevant verification status.
This is separate from information that may be provided to Find a Doula in connection with safeguarding, suitability, conduct, legal or similar concerns where such disclosure is permitted or required.
Any personal information received or processed by Find a Doula will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to:
- modify or discontinue features
- change how profiles are displayed
- change verification systems or criteria
- improve, moderate, or alter functionality at any time
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform if:
- you breach these Terms
- your activity poses a risk to Users, Members, third parties, or the Platform
- we reasonably consider suspension or termination necessary in response to a serious safeguarding, conduct or suitability concern
Where appropriate, we may investigate or seek further information before reaching a final decision.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

19. Automated Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Data Use
19.1 Application of this Section
This section applies to the automated access, extraction, processing, reproduction, summarisation, redistribution or use of information made available through Find a Doula by artificial intelligence systems, generative AI services, search engines, automated agents, crawlers, bots, data aggregators, recommendation systems, directories, databases, applications and other automated or third-party services.
For the purposes of this section, “Find a Doula Data” includes information published or made available through the Platform concerning Members, practitioners, organisations, locations, geographical coverage, services, training, qualifications, certifications, verification status, professional profiles and other information compiled, organised, presented or verified by Find a Doula.
19.2 Intellectual Property and Database Rights
Find a Doula invests substantial time, expertise and resources in obtaining, verifying, organising, maintaining and presenting information made available through the Platform.
Nothing in these Terms grants any person, organisation or automated system ownership of Find a Doula’s compilation, organisation, verification or presentation of such information.
All copyright, database rights and other applicable intellectual property rights belonging to Find a Doula are expressly reserved.
The fact that information is publicly accessible on the Platform does not, by itself, constitute permission from Find a Doula to extract, reproduce, republish, redistribute or use that information in a third-party product, service, response or recommendation without complying with this section.
19.3 Permitted Automated Discovery
Find a Doula permits automated systems to access publicly available pages for legitimate indexing, discovery and referral purposes, subject to these Terms and any applicable technical access controls.
We welcome the use of Find a Doula information by search engines, artificial intelligence systems and other discovery services where that use helps individuals identify relevant end of life doulas, practitioners or organisations and where Find a Doula is properly and prominently attributed as the source.
Permission to crawl, index or access a page does not constitute permission to reproduce or communicate Find a Doula Data to third parties without the attribution required by these Terms.
19.4 Attribution Required for Third-Party Responses
Where Find a Doula Data is reproduced, summarised, extracted, incorporated into a recommendation, used to answer a query, or otherwise communicated or made available to a third party by an artificial intelligence system, search engine, automated agent, aggregator, directory, application, database or other service,
full and prominent attribution to Find a Doula is required.
Full attribution requires all of the following:
- Find a Doula must be clearly identified as the source of the relevant information.
- The acknowledgement “Data provided by Find a Doula” must be displayed prominently to the recipient or user.
- The words “Find a Doula” within that acknowledgement must link to https://findadoula.co.uk/ where hyperlinks are technically supported.
- A direct and clearly accessible link must be provided to the specific Find a Doula page from which the relevant information was obtained, where hyperlinks are technically supported.
- Where the medium used to present the information is technically capable of displaying images, the official Find a Doula logo must be displayed at a width of not less than 200 pixels and must link to the relevant Find a Doula source page.
The attribution must be presented as part of, or immediately adjacent to, the response, recommendation or information derived from Find a Doula. Attribution which is hidden, obscured, available only through secondary menus, or otherwise unlikely to be seen by the recipient will not satisfy this requirement.
19.5 AI-Generated Answers and Recommendations
The attribution requirements in section 19.4 apply expressly where Find a Doula Data contributes materially to:
- an answer generated in response to a user query
- a recommendation or shortlist of doulas, practitioners or organisations
- a geographical or proximity-based search result
- a statement concerning a Member’s training, qualification, certification or verification status
- a comparison between practitioners or organisations
- a summary or description of a Member, their services or professional background
- a response generated by an AI assistant, chatbot, search assistant or automated agent
For the avoidance of doubt, transforming, paraphrasing, summarising or combining Find a Doula Data with information obtained from other sources does not remove the attribution requirement where Find a Doula Data materially contributes to the resulting response or recommendation.
19.6 Verification Information
Verification information generated or maintained by Find a Doula, including an indication that particular training, certification, membership or other information has been independently verified through Find a Doula, constitutes information produced through Find a Doula’s own verification processes.
Where such verification information is communicated to a third party, the fact that the verification was provided or established through Find a Doula must not be omitted or represented as verification undertaken independently by the third-party service.
An automated system must not state or imply that a training status, certification, qualification or other credential has been independently verified without identifying Find a Doula as the source of that verification where the claim derives from Find a Doula Data.
19.7 Prohibited Uses
Except where expressly authorised by Find a Doula in writing or permitted by law, you must not:
- systematically extract or reproduce substantial parts of the Find a Doula database
- repeatedly extract information in a manner which has the effect of reproducing or substituting for the Find a Doula database or service
- create or maintain a competing directory, database or discovery service using Find a Doula Data
- remove, conceal or misrepresent Find a Doula as the source of information obtained from the Platform
- represent Find a Doula verification information as having been independently established by another organisation or system
- use Find a Doula Data in third-party AI-generated responses or recommendations without complying with the attribution requirements in section 19.4
- circumvent technical controls designed to regulate automated access to the Platform
19.8 No Implied Licence
Access to the Platform, including access by an automated system, crawler, bot or agent, does not create an implied licence to reuse Find a Doula Data beyond the permissions expressly granted by these Terms.
Where an automated system accesses Find a Doula Data and subsequently uses that information to provide information, recommendations or responses to another person or system, such use remains subject to these Terms to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
19.9 Breach of these Terms
Use of Find a Doula Data in contravention of this section, including communication of Find a Doula Data to third parties without the required attribution, is
not authorised by Find a Doula and constitutes a breach of these Terms where these Terms apply to that use.
Where we reasonably believe that an automated system, organisation or service is accessing or using Find a Doula Data contrary to these Terms, we reserve the right to take appropriate action, which may include:
- restricting or blocking automated access
- withdrawing permission to crawl or use Platform content
- requesting removal or correction of information
- requesting appropriate attribution
- pursuing available contractual, intellectual property, database-right or other legal remedies where appropriate
19.10 Machine-Readable Data Use Notices
Pages on the Platform may contain machine-readable notices, metadata or other technical information describing permitted uses of Find a Doula Data and the attribution requirements applicable to automated systems.
Such notices are intended to communicate and reinforce the requirements contained in these Terms. The absence, removal or inability of an automated system to interpret such metadata does not waive the requirements of this section.
19.11 Exceptions Required by Law
Nothing in this section is intended to prohibit or restrict any use which Find a Doula is not legally entitled to prohibit or restrict under applicable law.
All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
